Our story
"A homage to my parents' love and my Brazilian childhood."
Uma and Leopold began in the late 1970s in Rio de Janeiro, in a family leather atelier. Our founder, Lara, grew up among her father's workbenches, watching him make pieces for some of the city's finest stores. That love for things made slowly, by hand, is still at the heart of everything we do.
The name is a tribute to her parents, Uma and Leopold, and to the Brazilian childhood that shaped the brand: the light, the colour and the ease of life by the sea.
